An agent workflow begins with a hand-off design

Map the work before the tools

A document-preparation workflow might pass through a requester, retrieval tools, an organisation step and a business owner. Mapping those hand-offs reveals where automation is appropriate. A tool name is not a substitute for a description of the work.

Define a useful stopping point

Completion might mean a summary awaiting review, a set of matching materials or a request ready for human handling. Not every workflow needs to act automatically to its final step. A defined stopping state is often more useful than a vague promise of full automation.

Give exceptions a real place

Missing material, conflicting versions, an ambiguous request or an out-of-scope task each deserve their own response. An exception should not be merely an error line; it should provide the next useful action.

Return the method to the team

The KNOWLEDGE concept puts the request, output, references and review into one workflow. A team can use it to discuss responsibilities and improvements rather than merely watching one successful demonstration.
